Happy i9 Sports Customer Becomes Franchise Owner

Jay MechtlyJay Mechtly and his wife Danielle are no strangers to the i9 Sports brand. In fact, all four of their kids played in i9 Sports leagues in the Keller, Texas area. Through their experience with i9 Sports, the Mechtly’s realized this was a business opportunity they wanted to bring to their hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina. After much discussion with his family and the team at i9 Sports, Jay stepped away from corporate America to focus solely on being the owner of an i9 Sports franchise.

Having served as an artillery officer in the United States Army coupled with his operation management roles at Corning Inc., Jay has the discipline and professional experience that will serve him well in running his i9 Sports business. Not only that, but Jay has experienced i9 Sports and other youth sports programs as a customer which provides him with insight into what families want and how to deliver it effectively. When asked what he is most excited about Jay said, “The chance to work with a company that [Danielle and I] have been such satisfied customers of is exciting. We also feel that our strengths align well with what is needed to be successful.”

Jay is excited to bring the nation’s first & largest youth sports league franchise to Wilmington, North Carolina by offering flag football, soccer, baseball and basketball to kids ages 3-14. He plans to open at one venue this winter and expand to multiple venues by spring.
